On sekizinci asır ulemasından ve namlı sülüs hattatlarından; Ağakapılı İsmail Efendiden icâzetnâme almıştır, Mısır vâlisi Hamza Paşanın imamı bulunurken Hünkâr imamı ve müderrisi olmuştu. (H. 1138) 1726 da öldü ve Meyyit iskelesi civarına gömüldü.
